LEGO Mos Eisley Cantina
My complete build of the LEGO Mos Eisley Cantina set from Star Wars.
Part 1
It’s time to make a LEGO cantina! Droids are welcome in this one. We start building the Mos Eisley Cantina LEGO set, beginning with the V-35 landspeeder. We also chat about guitars, app subscriptions, Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, crying, and more.
Part 2
Come on down to the Build-a-Bar Workshop! What is this weird long tube for? Let’s find out. This time we start building the Mos Eisley Cantina itself, starting with the bar and some seating areas. We also chat more about Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, the proper word for a LEGO unit, bignettes, using an iPhone as a webcam, why Wuher has a drawer of bones below the cash register, and more.
Part 3
What’s E.T. short for? Because he’s got small legs! That’s also why this Star Wars minifig is so short. This week we make significant progress on the Cantina, finishing up one half of the seating area, as well as the entrance. We assemble some droids and a sandtrooper with a little backpack where he keeps his applesauce. We also chat about not working on the weekend, gaming PCs, Pizza Snack, Isekei, and at one point we just stop to look at other LEGO sets.
Part 4
Not a lot of scum OR villainy in this LEGO Cantina so far. Let’s see if we can turn that around? The LEGO Cantina is starting to look like an entire thing now, but there’s still quite a bit to go. We chat about Chewbacca getting killed by a moon, a distinct lack of Han Solo lore, cleaing up viscera with a broom, and the trials of applying LEGO stickers.
Part 5
The penultimate episode! It’s starting to look almost complete, but there’s still an entire building with a Jawa shop that we haven’t even started. This time we start off with a space pod that has Too Many Stickers, then we continue to build out most of the main Cantina building. We chat about who shot first, limiting yourself to two fonts, jacking up your core, getting tube juice out of your carpet, Greedo’s rental space pod, lightsaber scones, Zork, and unauthorized Special Edition dates. I also show off my original Macintosh and Nintendo Entertainment System LEGO sets designed by Chris McVeigh.
Part 6
This is it! Today we finish the LEGO Cantina! We’re gonna make a little Jawa shop next door and give the dewback a lower jaw! We also build the dewback a saddle and then we immediately remove it and set him FREE. We chat about stormtrooper cooling systems, the different types of Grogu, alcoholic milk, Crystal Time, LEGO horses, and my terrible memory. I also give a PowerPoint presentation comparing the LEGO set to the film, and talk about how they used a Rolls Royce jet engine combustion chamber for both IG-88’s head and the Cantina distillery system.
