Spaceship Warlock

Streamed from June 24 to July 1, 2025

Spaceship Warlock is a sci-fi adventure game created by Mike Saenz and Joe Sparks. It was first published in 1991 by Reactor, Inc., exclusively for Macintosh on CD-ROM. The game eventually made its way to Windows a few years later in 1994.

The game’s packaging makes it clear you’re meant to play as yourself, a human living long after an alien species called the Kroll has taken over and enslaved humanity. You eventually find your way aboard the Warlock and meet Captain Hammer, and find yourself fighting the Kroll for the future of humanity.

The gameplay is similar to other early multimedia adventure games like Myst. You click on different places on the screen to move around and interact with items or characters. There are some challenging arcade sequences sprinkled throughout, and you can often talk to characters by typing in a few words. Joe Sparks provides a fantastic, memorable soundtrack, as you’d expect.
