Transfer Point is coming soon
In March 2023, I started a stream series where I made a game in World Builder and MacPaint, over the course of a year and half. It was made almost entirely live on Twitch, and I incorporated as many suggestions from chat as I could. The project was put on pause for a little while, but it’s finally time: Transfer Point will be available soon.
Transfer Point is a point-and-click adventure game about regret, forgiveness, and email. It starts at a bus stop, surrounded by darkness. There’s a shuttered storefront nearby, and an egret who’s a bit too enthusiastic. There’s a weird little handheld computer you can use. It’s full of odd puzzles that might occasionally infuriate you, but will hopefully make you laugh. (InvisiClues will also be available, if you need a little bit of help. Or if you just want the solution described plainly.)
The game fits on an 800K floppy disk, so you’ll be able to play it on your classic Macintosh. A 400K version will also be available, with a few non-essential sound effects removed. If you don’t have a classic Mac available, don’t worry: you’ll be able to play it in your web browser.
To celebrate the game’s release, I’ll be holding a launch party on Twitch later this month. I’ll share the (hopefully finished) cover painting, and the manual I created full of illustrations. I’ll talk about the InvisiClues page I put together, and why InvisiClues are great. I’ll share a little bit about the process of finishing up the game and making it playable in a browser. Then we’ll check out a variety of other games made in World Builder. I’ll add the launch party to my schedule once it’s finalized.
