Defeating Games for Charity is January 23-25. It’ll be a weekend of classic game series, raising money for the Video Game History Foundation, organized by the Dev Game Club community. I’ll be playing Shadowgate and King’s Quest I, and I have fun things planned for both of them.
Current Schedule
I’ll be playing Quest for Glory: So You Want to Be a Hero for the first time. I’m excited to finally dig into this Sierra classic, designed by Lori Ann Cole with music by Mark Seibert. I’ll be playing the original EGA version of the game for my first playthrough.
On Tuesdays this month I’ll be playing Mortville Manor for the first time. This is the first game in the series that follows detective Jérôme Lange, who later makes his way to Maupiti Island. I’ll be playing the 1988 DOS release. I don’t know if this game is as difficult as Maupiti Island, but I am absolutely prepared to make detailed notes and spreadsheets!
Other Upcoming Streams
On Saturday, January 31, I’ll be joining Silver_Streak to kick off season two of his Consulting Detective Network series. We’ll be playing The Rootrees Are Dead, a game we’ve both been looking forward to since its release.
